The Outgoing President John Dramani Mahama will be joining his colleague ECOWAS leaders on Friday December 16, 2016 for a Heads of State summit in Abuja.
The three-day meeting is aimed at convincing defeated Gambian President Yahya Jammeh to relinquish power after several failed attempts by four leaders from Anglophone countries.
Soldiers seized the headquarters of the national elections commission hours before the ECOWAS mediation delegation touched down in Gambia and engaged in discussions with the former dictator which ended in a stalemate.
