Midfielder for Congolese-based club TP Mazembe, Daniel Nii Adjei has advised local players to switch their attention into plying their trade outside the country, claiming football management is poorly handled.
Adjei recently won his second continental trophy with Mazembe since joining them in 2013, after defeating Algerian side MO Bejaia in the Confederation Cup.
The former Asante Kotoko said local players are not properly taken care of by their respective clubs adding that they receive low salaries which go a long way to affect their lives after their football career.
“Everybody knows the state of Ghana football at the moment. It’s not doing well. There is no improvement coming in. The players are suffering so is better they move out and get something for their future,” Adjei exclusively told Ultimate FM.
“At the end of your career, your daily bread, where to lay your head and what you make out of life becomes paramount, but not just for playing sake.
“I can come to Ghana and play but at the end of the day if I don’t get anything substantial for the future then I might end up having problems for myself, my wife and family. Everything will be back to square one,” he added.
The 28-year-old spent six years with the Porcupine Warriors before being transferred to Mazembe – winning two Super Cups and three league trophies.
