Self-acclaimed Dance hall king Charles Nii Armah Jnr popularly called Shatta Wale has disclosed that he quit smoking ‘wee’ four years ago.
The artiste who is speculated to be smoking ‘wee’ before he mounts musical stages, said he took a personal decision to stop smoking ‘wee’ and that he drinks only water when he performs.
The vibrant artiste threw a challenge to medical doctors in the country to diagnose his blood if he has a particle of ‘wee’ clouted in his system.
Disclosing this on Starr Chat hosted by Kwabena Anokye Adisi popularly called Bola Ray, he said he has been preaching against drug abuse in most of his songs.
The ‘Kakai’ hit maker explained that he did not go through any rehabilitation programme to stop smoking.
According to him, he only smokes cigarette in the studio when he is working on a song just to cool off, adding that he is not going back to smoking ‘wee’.
‘‘…I have stopped smoking ‘wee’ for some time now; I think it’s been getting to four years now since I quit smoking. I quit four years ago because of my line of music, yeah I don’t smoke ‘wee’ anymore. I am sure about that for real. I would want any doctor to check my blood and me I like money so you put money and we bet. This one no ‘be super bet but Shatta bet, because I believe in life you do certain things… nothing stopped me from smoking ‘wee’. I said to myself that it wasn’t important because the smoking didn’t generate income for me. I have couple of songs I preach about drug abuse, cocaine, ‘wee’ and other stuff. But me myself I didn’t go to any rehab to stop smoking ‘wee’. I always say certain decisions should be made by you… I told myself I need to continue with my work and grow up well. Once in a while, I wouldn’t lie about it when am in the studio, I smoke cigarette a bit that is ok, that’s all,’ he explained.
He invited his fans to attend the S- Concert which will take place at the Accra Sports Stadium on November 5, 2016.
