2024 was full of eventful, interesting, breathtaking, and sometimes controversial moments in sports. But which of these moments do you remember?

February 11, 2024: After a shaky start to the tournament, Ivory Coast clinched the AFCON title on home soil with a 2-1 victory over Nigeria in the finals.
March 8 – 23, 2024: Ghana organized the 2023 African Games and won the country’s most medals ever at the continental games – 69 medals. Ghana won 19 gold, 29 silver, and 21 bronze medals across ten sports.
March 19 – 31, 2024: Italy’s Jannik Sinner and Danielle Collins from the United States won the men’s and women’s 2024 Miami Open Cup respectively.
April 7, 2024: Marx Verstappen won the 2024 Japanese Grand Prix.
April 11 – 14 - Scottie Scheffler won the 2024 Masters Tournament in Golf.
May 18, 2024: Oleksandr Usyk defeated Tyson Fury by a split decision in Saudi Arabia to be crowned the undisputed heavyweight champion.
May 22. 2024: Ademola Lookman scored a historic hat-trick in the UEFA EUROPA League final to help Atalanta beat Bayer Leverkusen to the title.
May 25, 2024: Barcelona retained their Women’s UEFA Champions League trophy by defeating Lyon in the final.
June 1, 2024: Real Madrid their 15th UEFA Champions League trophy over Borussia Dortmund.
July 1 – 14, 2024: Carlos Alcaraz and Barbora Krej?íková cruised to victory in the 2024 Wimbledon Championships.
July 7, 2024: Lewis Hamilton won the 2024 British Grand Prix.
July 26 – August 11, 2024: Stephen Nedoroscik with his Clark Kent glasses and Yusuf Dikec with his nonchalant shooting wowed fans in Paris. Brazil’s Rebecca Andrade won gold ahead of US pair Simone Biles and Jordan Chiles marking the first all-black gymnastic podium in Olympics history.
Letsile Tebogo from Uganda won the 200 m gold medal, Noah Nyles clinched the 100m race and ran the 200m race after testing positive for COVID-19 two days earlier.
St Lucia star Julian Alfred won gold in both 100m and 200m races ahead of her US competitors and was showered with life-changing gifts and endorsements by her country.
Swedish star Mondo Duplantis soared 6.25m to set the ninth world pole vault record of his career and cap a gold medal-winning performance.
August 10, 2024: The U.S. women's soccer team defeated Brazil to win Olympic gold in its first major tournament under new coach Emma Hayes.
October 22, 2024: LeBron James and his son, Bronny, share the court as teammates on the Los Angeles Lakers. They are the first father-son duo to play together in the NBA.
October 28, 2024: Rodri wins the Ballon d’Or over Real Madrid’s Vini Jr, becoming the first English Premier League player to win since Cristiano Ronaldo in 2008.
November 15, 2024: Famous YouTuber Jake Paul defeated legendary boxer Mike Tyson at AT&T Stadium in Arlington, Texas in front of more than 70,000 spectators.
November 24, 2024: Abigail Kwartekaa Quartey made history as the first-ever Ghanaian female world boxing champion. She defeated Sangeeta Birdie from the UK by unanimous decision at the Bukom Boxing Arena to become the WIBF World Super Bantamweight champion.
December 16, 2024: Nigeria’s Ademola Lookman named African Best Player at CAF Awards after an impressive season with Super Eagles and Atalanta.
December 17, 2024: Vini Jr wins the Best Men’s Player at FIFA Best Football Awards after controversially losing the Ballon d’Or to Rodri.
