Ghana police have deployed extra officers in Kasoa in the Central Region to cope with the increase in the number of reported cases of crimes in the area.

Many residents have complained of insecurity due to poor police visibility while landowners and developers complained of harassment from land guards.
DCOP Dr Goerge Akuffo Dampare, Director in Charge of Operations at the Ghana Police Service, who led a team of officers to the area, said the extra police officers is to ensure law and order.
He revealed that some 70 people have been arrested in recent days over their roles in multiple crimes in the area.
According to him, policing is a shared responsibility, urging the residents to volunteer information to the police.
Early this week, a lady believed to be in her early 30s was killed in a hotel at Kasoa.

The deceased, who is yet to be identified, according to residents, was stabbed in the chest by her assailants in the guest house (name withheld for now) Sunday evening.
Also, on November 9, it was reported that a 45-year-old woman, was on her way to the market, was ambushed by some suspected armed robbers and killed.
