After a wild Week 6 of NFL action, here's your updated look at how every team in the NFL stacks up
Week 6 of the NFL season was a wild one.
Adrian Peterson turned the clock back, the New York Jets got caught on the wrong end of the season's most controversial ruling, Aaron Rodgers broke his collarbone, and it was all capped off by another Monday night miracle for gamblers.
The chaos shook up our Power Rankings, as last week's top five all lost and three of the bottom five teams won. In a league where 27 teams have 2-4 wins, it appears that "parity" has hit the NFL in a big way.
Below we wade through the murky waters and look at where every team stands going into Week 7.
32. Cleveland Browns
Record: 0-6
Last week: Lost to the Texans, 33-17
This week: vs. Tennessee Titans
One thing to know: Things have turned sour in Cleveland, as Hue Jackson is reportedly likely to pull reserve QB Kevin Hogan after a three-interception performance and bring back DeShone Kizer, who was initially pulled for struggling with accuracy.
31. San Francisco 49ers
Record: 0-6
Last week: Lost to the Redskins 26-24
This week: vs. Dallas Cowboys
One thing to know: The Niners have now lost five games in a row by three points or less, becoming the first team in NFL history to do so.
30. New York Giants
Record: 1-5
Last week: Beat the Broncos, 23-10
This week: vs. Seattle Seahawks
One thing to know: With their season hitting a low point, the Giants came out and surprised everyone by hanging 23 points on one of the league's best defenses. Perhaps the offense can function to some extent if running back Orleans Darkwa (117 yards on 21 carries vs. Denver) keeps it up.
29. Indianapolis Colts
Record: 2-4
Last week: Lost to the Titans 36-22
This week: vs. Jacksonville Jaguars
One thing to know: Every week Andrew Luck is out increases the risk that the Colts are already out of the playoffs by the time he is cleared to return.
28. Los Angeles Chargers
Record: 2-4
Last week: Beat the Raiders, 17-16
This week: vs. Denver Broncos
One thing to know: The Chargers welcomed back first-round draft pick wide receiver Mike Williams in Week 6. Williams only had one catch for 15 yards, but as he returns to full health, he could be a welcome new option for Philip Rivers.
27. Chicago Bears
Record: 2-4
Last week: Beat the Ravens 27-24
This week: vs. Carolina Panthers
One thing to know: Mitch Trubisky got his first win as an NFL starter last week as the Bears kept the trick plays coming against the Ravens.
26. Cincinnati Bengals
Record: 2-3
Last week: Bye
This week: at Pittsburgh Steelers
One thing to know: Over the bye week, Bengals tight end Tyler Eifert opted for back surgery, ending his season and possibly his Bengals career. He's a free agent this offseason.
25. Oakland Raiders
Record: 2-4
Last week: Lost to the Chargers 17-16
This week: vs. Kansas City Chiefs
One thing to know: Their season in a tailspin and facing the daunting task of making the postseason out of the AFC West, the Raiders need to turn their season around and fast. A win at home against the Chiefs this Thursday would go a long way towards that cause.
24. Tampa Bay Buccaneers
Record: 2-3
Last week: Lost to the Cardinals, 38-33
This week: at Buffalo Bills
One thing to know: Jameis Winston hurt his shoulder in Week 6, sending in Ryan Fitzpatrick. Fitzpatrick did throw for 290 yards and three touchdowns, but he also threw two interceptions, a familiar sight for Jets fans.
23. Miami Dolphins
Record: 3-2
Last week: Beat the Falcons 20-17
This week: vs. New York Jets
One thing to know: The Dolphins comeback win against the Falcons was one of the strangest outcomes in a stranger-than-usual weekend of football. After falling behind 17-0 in the second quarter, Jay Cutler lead Miami to 20 unanswered points in the second half for the win.
22. New York Jets
Record: 3-3
Last week: Lost to the Patriots, 24-17
This week: at Miami Dolphins
One thing to know: The Jets are still smarting over the bizarre call that took away a touchdown that could have helped them beat the Patriots. A division game against Miami could go a long way in telling if this team is real or simply had a hot start.
21. Arizona Cardinals
Record: 3-3
Last week: Beat the Buccaneers 38-33
This week: at Los Angeles Rams
One thing to know: Adrian Peterson looked like his old self again in his first game with the Cardinals, finishing the day with 26 carries for 134 yards and two touchdowns.
20. Baltimore Ravens
Record: 3-3
Last week: Lost to the Bears, 27-24
This week: at Minnesota Vikings
One thing to know: The Ravens have been one of the most up-and-down, unpredictable teams in the NFL. Of concern if they want to make the playoffs has been the poor play of Joe Flacco, who hasn't thrown for over 250 yards in a game and has twice as many interceptions as touchdowns.
19. Jacksonville Jaguars
Record: 3-3
Last week: Lost to the Rams 27-17
This week: at Indianapolis Colts
One thing to know: Leonard Fournette has been sensational with 331 rushing yards over the past two weeks, but Blake Bortles needs to perform better if the Jaguars are going to make something of Fournette's unquestionable talent.
18. New Orleans Saints
Record: 3-2
Last week: Beat the Lions, 52-38
This week: at Green Bay Packers
One thing to know: After trading Adrian Peterson last week, the Saints saw an uptick in their run game, getting 189 yards and two touchdowns from the combo of Mark Ingram and Alvin Kamara.
17. Buffalo Bills
Record: 3-2
Last week: Bye
This week: vs. Tampa Bay Buccaneers
One thing to know: After seven games with 100 yards rushing last season, LeSean McCoy hasn't hit the century mark since Week 1 against the Jets.
16. Dallas Cowboys
Record: 2-3
Last week: Bye
This week: at San Francisco 49ers
One thing to know: The Cowboys will hang onto Ezekiel Elliott for at least two more weeks as a judge granted him a temporary restraining order in his suit against the NFL.
15. Detroit Lions
Record: 3-3
Last week: Lost to the Saints 52-38
This week: Bye
One thing to know: The Lions will have the week off to regroup after taking a beating from the Saints offense. Next up is hoping to contain Big Ben, Antonio Brown, and Le'Veon Bell at home for "Sunday Night Football."
14. Washington Redskins
Record: 3-2
Last week: Beat the 49ers, 26-24
This week: at Philadelphia Eagles
One thing to know: Washington head coach Jay Gruden continues to say Chris Thompson isn't their lead running back, but through five games, Thompson has amassed 515 total yards and four touchdowns.
13. Tennessee Titans
Record: 3-3
Last week: Beat the Colts 36-22
This week: at Cleveland Browns
One thing to know: At the end of Monday night's game against the Colts, the Titans provided football bettors the second miracle backdoor cover in three weeks. Word to the wise — be careful betting on "Monday Night Football."
12. Houston Texans
Record: 3-3
Last week: Beat the Browns, 33-17
This week: Bye
One thing to know: Deshaun Watson has thrown 15 touchdowns, most in the NFL. The Texans are only 12th in offensive DVOA but have scored the second most points in the league.
11. Green Bay Packers
Record: 4-2
Last week: Lost to the Vikings 23-10
This week: vs. New Orleans Saints
One thing to know: With the loss of Aaron Rodgers, the Packers future is now in the hands of Brett Hundley. Against a Saints team whose offense showed off some of its old self last week, he'll have to get a handle of the Packers offense pretty quickly.
10. Atlanta Falcons
Record: 3-2
Last week: Lost to the Dolphins, 20-17
This week: at New England Patriots
One thing to know: How fitting that the Falcons blew a double-digit halftime lead to an opponent one week before their Super Bowl rematch with the Patriots. A third straight loss for Atlanta could be put them in a perilous place in the competitive NFC South.
9. Los Angeles Rams
Record: 4-2
Last week: Beat the Jaguars 27-17
This week: vs. Arizona Cardinals
One thing to know: The Rams currently sit atop the NFC West with a crucial divisional game coming up this week.
8. Seattle Seahawks
Record: 3-2
Last week: Bye
This week: at New York Giants
One thing to know: Look out for the Seahawks, who have won two in a row and are embarking on a stretch where they play the 1-5 Giants, currently winless 49ers, Titans, and 2-4 Colts.
7. Denver Broncos
Record: 3-2
Last week: Lost to the Giants 23-10
This week: at Los Angeles Chargers
One thing to know: A home loss to the winless Giants is a troubling sign, but it's just one game in a chaotic year of football. With a strong defense and plenty of offensive weapons, the Broncos are still a force in the NFL.
6. Pittsburgh Steelers
Record: 4-2
Last week: Beat the Chiefs, 19-13
This week: vs. Cincinnati Bengals
One thing to know: Though Ben Roethlisberger declared "this old cowboy's got a little bit left in him" after the Steelers beat the undefeated Chiefs, he ought to thanks Antonio Brown, who turned a nearly intercepted pass into a huge touchdown.
5. Minnesota Vikings
Record: 4-2
Last week: Beat the Packers 23-10
This week: vs. Baltimore Ravens
One thing to know: The Vikings have fought their way to a 4-2 record and a spot atop the NFC North despite being dealt a bad hand with injuries. While questions remain at the quarterback position, the Vikings will be in every game as long as their defense continues to do its part.
4. Carolina Panthers
Record: 4-2
Last week: Lost to the Eagles, 28-23
This week: at Chicago Bears
One thing to know: Luke Kuechy is once again in concussion protocol after a scary hit vs. the Eagles. As The MMQB's Peter King argues, it may be time for Kuechly to consider his long-term future.
3. New England Patriots
Record: 4-2
Last week: Beat the Jets 24-17
This week: vs. Atlanta Falcons
One thing to know: The Patriots still have few convincing victories this season, but between their offensive attack and the proven ability of Bill Belichick and Tom Brady to win in close contests, New England remains a reliable powerhouse in a year full of parity. This week's Super Bowl rematch should be a fun one to watch.
2. Philadelphia Eagles
Record: 5-1
Last week: Beat the Panthers, 28-23
This week: vs. Washington Redskins
One thing to know: The Eagles look like one of football's most dynamic teams thanks to a physical, aggressive defense and an offense that, while lacking elite playmakers, takes advantage of the opportunities opposing defenses give them.
1. Kansas City Chiefs
Record: 5-1
Last week: Lost to the Steelers 19-13
This week: at Oakland Raiders
One thing to know: Despite taking their first loss of the season last week against the Steelers, Kansas City is still the most complete team in the league as things stand. This week, they’ll take on a desperate Raiders team on the road on a short week, a good test to see if they’re capable of bouncing back after a season of relative dominance.
