Dear DKB, some Ghanaians say you're not funny. If you want to change that, work on your jokes and stop attacking Pulse Ghana. Thank you.
Funny how this is not even funny anymore.
“To any youg person reading this & battling hate & phd over their dreams.
“Say to yourself “obiaaa mami tw3”
“Get up & move to achieve it!,” a tweet read on DKB’s timeline after going all out on Pulse Ghana for stating the one obvious fact in Ghana comedy: DKB IS NOT FUNNY!
But there’s a little background.
It the Easter Comedy Show. Saturday night, April 15, 2017. Fans of comedy in Ghana who want to have a laugh as they mourn the death and celebrate the resurrection of Jesus Christ at equal measure troop to the Accra International Conference Centre.
The list of comedians to entertain is packed as Salvador, Acapella, Khemical, Lekzy, Heiress Jacinta and DKB are all booked to perform.
It’s gonna be lit right? It was lit but for one gentleman.
Khemikal who nearly goofed in the opening stages as an MC recovers quickly after saying lateness is part of Ghanaians’ DNA as justification for the show started over an hour and 30 minutes late.
But the true character of a comedian is how you react to an audience’s fury. And he did in great style calming nerves with rib cracking jokes.

Lekzy appears on stage to treat fans to an evidence-based joke show that was worth the while spent watching him.
Jaciinta equally impresses with Nigerian stand-up comedian Acapella leaving no room for error with his performance.
I wrote in my review back then about Acapella:
“Comedy is a creative art and Acapella was damn too creative for someone who had brought a list on stage so as not to forget his jokes. The really creative part was how he got the audience to make him check his list without them even knowing it was all a plan. His jokes, absolutely rib cracking.”
The last two comedians of the night was where the whole trouble started.
DKB appears on stage to make jokes about a joke that had already exhausted its timeline on social media. I mean who hadn’t laugh about a TV3 presenter saying the ‘VAGIMA’ instead of the ‘VGMA’ a full week ahead of the Easter Comedy Show following the Ghana Music Awards?
Anybody who was inside the auditorium at the Accra International Conference Centre will attest to the fact that ‘You’re not funny’ ‘This is not funny’ chants were all over the place when DKB started making those jokes.
That was the only negative chants we had heard all night and DKB was the last but one comic performer.
The Ghanaian comedian goes on to try and save his night but could not go the creative way. Instead, he falls back on insults. Something that annoys the audience the more.
DKB finally accepts defeat that the crowd wasn’t ‘feeling’ his jokes but like the egoistic person he has shown to be, he blames it on the audience for being tired.
Nanso Nyame aa )mp3 b)ne saved his children in the auditorium from the ‘false accusation’ by DKB.
And Salvador was his biggest unlucky that night of the Easter Comedy Show.
DKB places a verdict the audience weren’t laughing because they were tired and leaves the stage.
Salvador comes in.
30 seconds later, people are ROTFL. Like literally rolling on the floor laughing.
So conclusions were made. DKB is actually not funny and the conversation started.
Fast forward to Monday after the show.
Reports on other news platforms claim Nana Konadu Agyeman Rawlings who was at the show says ‘DKB was boring’.

Pulse Ghana pick the phone and call the former First Lady of the land who explains with these quotes:
“You don’t have to be vulgar talking about women’s part, men’s part, sleeping with each other in a very daft way.
“It is was uncouth behaviour. Excuse me for saying, I wasn’t there for that kind of thing. I’m not a child. A joke is a joke. You need to sit down and think and ask yourself, what is it that the people want, what can make them laugh and then you plan it out and come out to deliver it.”
The conversation on social media heats up and the ‘King of GH Comedy’ comes up. So Pulse Ghana’s Europa Taylor hits the streets to find out from Ghanaians who the king of comedy is and surprise surprise … no, just joking. This doesn’t even come close to a surprise.
People interviewed said ‘NO! DKB IS NOT THE KING OF COMEDY IN GHANA!’
Four months down the line, the views of Ghanaians finally get to DKB and he starts acting up.
One, the fact that you started eight years ago and learned from legends according to your tweets DOES NOT guarantee than fans of comedy will like your jokes just like they did for the legends.
Jordan Ayew has the DNA of Abedi Pele but is no Abedi Pele. That is a scenario that should give you an idea.
You have to accept criticisms (something you obviously have no clue about) and improve on the things that were criticized.

Two, about not being a cheap comedian and releasing materials just anywhere. Lol. No one said you should.
‘If u don’t pay u don’t see it!’
Ow really? We did pay for the Easter Comedy show and if you were the only comedian on the list, the audience would have asked for their money back from the organisers. So you see, the ‘ignorant’ people have seen you perform over and over again and think you have to improve. Deal with it!
Now to the publication that was according to you published ‘to further destroy’ your name.
Don’t know where to start from because in what world did that article disrespect KSM?
That’s what I call ‘Fallacy of hasty generalization’.
KSM has an opinion and he let it out but that does not mean others can’t have opinions too.
People made their choices in that post and did not just feel you were the king. That is in no way pitching you against any Foster Romanus. Just impress people with your kind of comedy if you want to be top.
On your rant about ‘fellow Ghanaian joining a foreigner to destroy his own’, this is not even funny like your jokes considering the fact that Pulse Ghana had Ghanaian comedians in its studios in recent weeks promoting the Ghana Comedy Awards. Or if it’s not you, it’s foreign right? Just so you know, everything can’t be about you when it comes to comedy in Ghana.
Seriously, this is the part that makes me think replying this was probably a bad idea because you may be confused at this point. For someone who says if you don’t pay, you don’t get to see him perform, why would you confirm releasing your performance videos online? Man needs the publicity chale, that’s the only way this makes sense.
But don’t worry, we’ve given you this.
Just a little advice which you obviously need.
If you’re funny, no one will say you’re not. So try to be and you’ll the plaudits that come with it.
But until then:
Stop the insults
Write funny jokes
Then, finally, you could be funny.
But in all these, criticisms will always be part of the journey so accept it and stop acting like a crying baby.
And ow, before I go, you tweeted this:
“Sike! Madafucker! I will be king of COMEDY today, tomorrow & next week Friday! Sia!”
Since we’re all saying something that is not true, here I go. I’m in the Bahamas writing this. Aliko Dangote is the one waiting on me serving me good tea. Adele will be performing ‘Hello’ for me in a private show later on.
But I know you won’t get this joke because if you could we will not be having this discussion.
