
Mahama is yet to declare his intentions whether or not to contest the 2020 flagbearer race of the NDC
The opposition National Democratic Congress (NDC) is yet to open nominations for interested members of the party to contest as flagbearer to lead the party to capture power from the New Patriotic Party (NPP) in the 2020 elections.
Names that have come up so far include the former Minister of Trades and Industry Dr. Ekow Spio Garbrah, former majority Leader, Alban Bagbin, retired Vice-Chancellor of the University of Professional Studies, former vice President Paa Kwesi Amissah-Arthur and former High Commissioner to the United Kingdom, Victor Smith.

Others are the former vice chancellor of the University of Professional Studies Professor Joshua Alabi, former NHIS boss, Sylvester Mensah, former mayor of the Accra Metropolitan Assembly (AMA) Alfred Okoe Vanderpuije and Stephen Atubiga.
However, former President John Mahama is yet to declare his intentions whether or not to contest the 2020 flagbearer race of the NDC.
