Obiri Boahen, reacting to Thursday's press conference organised by the NDC in response to a press briefing held by President Nana Akufo-Addo, says the largest opposition party has been holding baseless press briefings.
The Deputy General Secretary of the governing New Patriotic Party, Nana Obiri Boahen, has launched a scathing on the National Democratic Congress (NDC), saying the party is frustrated and confused from 2016 election defeat.
Obiri Boahen, reacting to Thursday's press conference organised by the NDC in response to a press briefing held by President Nana Akufo-Addo, says the largest opposition party has been holding baseless press briefings.
Speaking on Kumasi-based Otec FM, the once Interior Minister said: “The NDC, clearly from all indications, is confused. They are a confused political party and that is why they have been organising press conferences without any basis, which doesn’t make sense.

“Ghanaians should not take the NDC serious because they have nothing good to offer to the country and its people. I think they are still in great shock following the unexpected defeat that they suffered in 2016.”
He says the NDC should rather criticise the "massive corruption" that happened under former president John Mahama.
“They should rather lambast the massive corruption under ex-President Mahama’s administration,” he said.
The NDC on Thursday levelled a series of allegations against President Akufo-Addo.
The press conference, addressed by its national chairman, Kofi Portuphy, accused the president of:
-being a “legal alien” and one who is not abreast of issues.
-spending more time abroad than in Ghana
-not fulfilling his promise to build a factory in every district
-failing to implement the free senior high school policy
-and failing to fulfil his promise to give $1million to every constituency.

He also touched on security in the country, saying that there is an “unprecedented upsurge in violent crimes to the disbelieve of Ghanaians.”
He said: “A peaceful Ghana in only six months has suddenly become a pool of blood and innocent blood is being shed on daily basis.”
