The two police officers were shot on Thursday 1:20 pm by unidentified men who were on an unregistered motorbike and believed to be on a robbery mission.
The Inspector General of Police David Asante Apeatu has announced a GHS10,000 reward for information leading to the arrest of the two armed men who shot two police officers at Lapaz, killing one in the process.
The IGP disclosed this during an address at a programme held at the Kaneshie Police Station on Friday, July 14.
The police officer passed away at the Police Hospital in Accra, whilst the other is currently on admission at same hospital.
The two persons were shot on Thursday 1:20 pm by unidentified men who were on an unregistered motorbike and believed to be on a robbery mission.
The suspects are currently on the run.

“Unfortunately, one of the police personnel passed on while receiving treatment but the second is in a stable condition,” a press release signed by Accra Regional Police PRO Effia Tenge stated.
“To facilitate their movement, the two suspects abandoned their motorbike, snatched an unregistered Ash Hyundai Elantra saloon vehicle and sped off towards Mallam junction direction.”

The police have since launched a manhunt for the suspects.
“The general public is hereby entreated to remain calm and support the police in their effort to arrest the perpetrators by volunteering useful information to police numbers: 18555, 0302787373, 0302773695, 03022773906,” the statement added.
