Boss Paul Clement fancies the former Barnet skipper, 25, to bolster his squad, but rates him at around £500,000.
However, Barnsley – under siege for their players this summer, want closer to £2million for the Ghana defender.

The Swans may throw Scottish striker Oliver McBurnie into the deal – either as a straight swap or on a season-long loan.
Yiadom joined the Tykes last year from the Bees on a free transfer, but established himself as one of the Sky Bet Championship’s top full-backs.
He made 33 appearances in all competitions for the Yorkshire club , but failed to chip in with a goal as his side finished in 14th place.
Although born in Holloway London and capped three times by England C, he was called up by Ghana for the African Cup of Nations in January.
He has since been capped twice by the Black Stars, where he made his debut in the 1-0 loss against eventual finalists Egypt.
