Tech: YouTube briefly went down for some people (GOOG, GOOGL)

Google's video site was experiencing issues on Friday morning.

YouTube went down on Friday morning.

The massively popular video site, which is owned by Google, was experiencing issues as of about 9 a.m. EST. Those attempting to use the site were greeted with this message:

According to Down Detector, which tracks web outages, the issues seemed to be concentrated in the US, particularly in the Northeast. YouTube's app also appeared to be experiencing issues.

By 9:30 EST, the site and app were back up and running for many people.
