LONDON – Kensington, the last remaining seat has declared its votes. The seat has always been held by a conservative MP, but has been won by Labour for the first time in its history.
Labour won by 20 votes, according to Sky News reports.
Here is how the constituency voted:
Conservatives: 16,313
Labour: 16,333
Liberal Democrats: 4,724
Greens: 767
Traditionally a Tory seat, Sky News's Faisal Islam points out that the Daily Mail's HQ is now in a Labour-held constituency.
Labour's MP for Kensington is Emma Dent Coad, who defeated Conservative candidate Victoria Borwick. Labour's victory in Kensington, the final result to be returned in the 2017 General Election, puts Labour's final tally at 263 seats and Conservatives at 318.
