Police in Kumasi have arrested a man who reportedly duped persons under the pretext that he will get them government contracts, appointment and visas.
Police said the suspect, George Kobiah, alias Nana Yaw managed to convince his victims that he was a Presidential Staffer and could therefore use his position to help them get jobs as ambassadors, military personnel, and so on.
At a news briefing in Kumasi, the Deputy Commissioner of Police (DCOP) Ken Yeboah, the Regional Commander said that the arrest of the suspect followed a tip-off.

According to him, some of his victims had already come forward to make formal complaints to the police.
Documents retrieved from the suspects included 37 applications, some addressed to the Chief of Staff and the Office of the President, certificates, curriculum vitae and testimonials.
DCOP Yeboah further urged people who had been swindled by the suspect to report to the police.
