
People have been evacuated from the shopping centre just hours after a terrorist detonated a bomb in the nearby Manchester Arena.
LONDON — A man has been arrested in the Arndale Centre shopping centre in central Manchester just hundreds of metres away from where a terrorist detonated a bomb in the Manchester Arena last night.
Hundreds of people have also been evacuated from the building in central Manchester, according to multiple reports.
The Manchester Evening News says the incident at the shopping centre is not connected to the Manchester Arena terror attack but arrests relating to last night's attack are being made across the city.
ITV correspondent Daniel Hewitt reports hundreds of people fled the shopping centre complex shouting "run run" amid panic and confusion, shortly after 11:00 (BST).

The Arndale Centre is less than half a mile away from the Manchester Arena where 22 people, including children, were killed on Monday evening.
In 1996 the IRA detonated a bomb in the shopping centre, injuring hundreds and causing millions of pounds worth of damage.
