Adams Mahama: IGP petitioned to arrest Otiko, Rockson Bukari over Mahama’s death

The Northern Regional Chairman of the New Patriotic Party (NPP), Daniel Bugri Naabu has alleged that Otiko Afisa Djaba was involved in the killing of Adams Mahama

A pro-NDC group affiliated to the National Democratic Congress (NDC), the Young Cadres Association (YCA) has petitioned the Inspector-General of Police (IGP), David Asante-Apeatu, to invite Mr Rockson Bukari, the Upper East Regional Minister and Minister of Gender, Children and Social Protection, Otiko Afisa Djaba over allegations that they had a hand in the murder of the late Upper East Regional chairman, Adams Mahama.

The group said since Mr Rockson Bukari and Otiko Djaba's names have been mentioned as having a hand in the murder of Adams Mahama, it is very important for the police to arrest and put them before the law court to redeem their image.

He alleged that two ministers in government are involved in the plot that led to the death of Mahama.

Bugri Naabu speaking in an interview on Accra-based Radio XYZ said, "Otiko has been a controversial woman in the party. As I’m telling you, this Adams issue, she was deeply involved, so because of that most of us who know her will call her a controversial woman."

But the youth activist group believes "The said persons are personalities of high standing in the nation and appointees of His Excellency, President Akuffo-Addo and thus any mud thrown at them indirectly damage the image of the President and the citizenry as well. It is, thus, in accordance with the laws of natural justice, to grant these persons, an opportunity to redeem their names by putting them before the law courts."

 

The petition signed by Bright Botchway, and George Ebo Crentsil, General Secretary and National Coordinator of YCA added that the clue offered by Bugri Naabu could potentially lead to a break in the deadlock as to who really murdered Adams Mahama.
