In an interview with Accra-based Citi FM, the Chief Executive Officer of GRIDCO, Mr. William Amuna said “almost 50 percent of power had already been restored” adding that GRIDCO is “building up gradually and we should be done in three hours.”
He explained that “there was a surge of power around 9:40pm last night; we lost many generators across the country. As a consequence, we lost supply to most parts of the country.”
