German stocks rose on Wednesday, with the benchmark DAX index up 40.97 points, or 0.32 percent, to close at 12,805.95 points.
Deutsche Post won the most among the blue chips, with its shares up 2.58 percent. Energy group E.ON and chemical and consumer goods company Henkel rose by 1.85 percent and 1.64 percent respectively.
Volkswagen lost the most among the blue chips, by falling 2.13 percent. Deutsche Bank and BMW went down by 2.13 percent and 1.38 percent, respectively.
Insurance group Alianz was the most-traded share with a turnover of 332.22 million euros (372.08 million U.S. dollars). Enditem
