Bright Addae 11 on Sunday beat Assin Fosu 11 by three goals to two in a football match to lift the silver Cup at stake.
The match was played as part of activities lined up for the Bright Addae foundation and drew many spectators to the Fosu Training College Park, despite a heavy downpour before the match.
Addae 11 scored the first goal through a penalty converted expertly by Italian Serie D AV. Hercelaneum winger David Yeboah.
Before the break, Yeboah scored a brace, with the third goal coming from Addae’s junior brother Franklin Addae.
The Assin Fosu side scored their two goals through Bechem United’s Joseph Amoah, who converted a penalty and later a free kick in the dying embers of the game.
It was all joy for Addae 11 after the victory and Bright Addae, who plays as a defender for Asccoli Pichio in the Italian Serie B.
The Principal of Fosu Training College, Dr. Nana Kwaku Asiedu congratulated the winners and commended Addae for the good works he has done for the community.
Ahead of the match, the 2009 U-20 World Cup winning member donated items to the needy in the community.
The 24 year-old defender, popularly referred to as the ‘The Wall’ distributed assorted drinks, boxes of indomie, bags of rice, oil, toiletries and bags of water to the poor, as part of his efforts to give back to society.
The Municipal Chief Executive of Assin Fosu, Kofi Baako, commended Addae for helping the needy, which demonstrates his desire to give back to the community.
Addae told the GNA Sports that, ‘‘this is the just beginning of better things to come’’.
