The Community Development Unit of the Tema Metropolitan Assembly and the Pumpkins Foundation have donated educational materials to pupils of Adjei Kojo Government School in the Tema Metropolis.
Items donated included shoes, bags, assorted pens and pencils, erasers, sharpeners, story books, paper glue and note pads.
Miss Theresa Anafi, Unit Head of the Community Development of the Tema Metropolitan Assembly, addressing the pupils, urged them to study hard and encouraged them to take up the noble profession of teaching in future.
Reverend Armah, one of the headteachers present, encouraged the children to cultivate the habit of sharing since anyone who shared received.
According to Mr Aziz Gomda, who did the presentation on behalf of the foundation to the Headteachers of the school, “This is the beginning of a year-long series of activities to be held for the School.”
The Foundation is implementing strategies to create a rare opportunity for child learning through recreation and provision of resources for academic advancement.
The Pumpkins Foundation is a non governmental organisation founded by Baisiwa Dowuona-Hammond to promote the general wellbeing of poor and needy children.
