The founder and Chief Executive Officer of Rigworld International Services, Dr Kofi Amoa-Abban is set to be awarded the GUBA Young Oil and Gas Entrepreneur Award by the Ghana-UK Based Achievement Awards (GUBA).
The award is to recognise his excellent efforts as an outstanding entrepreneur who has built and developed reputable businesses within his sector.
In a statement released by GUBA on May 27th, 2017, GUBA described Dr Abban as “a consummate deal maker” and “a known philanthropist” who brought “impactful change to Ghana”.
Dr Amoa-Abban is the founder and CEO of Rigworld International Services, a leading oil services business with operations across West Africa. RigWorld has five wholly owned subsidiary businesses namely; Trans-Atlantic Services limited, Rigworld Training Center (Opito), Rigworld NDT & inspection, Burj construction, Rigworld Security Services and M2 Telematics.
Rigworld International Services also owns a charity arm, The Kofi Abban Foundation which is the main vehicle for Dr Abban’s philanthropy. The Foundation is a charitable trust which provides funding and donations to churches, orphanages, and schools in deprived communities in Ghana.
Dr Abban, prior to this nomination, received the award for the Most Extraordinary Entrepreneur at 2016 Tema Excellence Awards, the Rising Star at the 2016 Exclusive Men of the Year awards (EMY) and CEO of the Year award and the Oil and Gas Personality of the year Award at the 2016 Oil and Gas Ghana Awards.
Dr Abban, together with twelve other outstanding Ghanaians, will receive awards at a ceremony on Saturday, June 3rd at the Intercontinental Hotel in London.
