Chinese construction firm China State Construction Engineering Corporation on Tuesday pledged to do a quality job for an ultra-modern shopping mall in Lusaka, the Zambian capital.
The Chinese firm, which has won the tender to construct the 72-million-U.S.-dollar project being undertaken by state pension body, the Public Service Pensions Fund (PSPF), said it will ensure quality of work and adhere to environmental guidelines as it embarks on the construction of the project.
The project includes the constructions of three star hotel, shopping center, office building, and an entertainment facility and will be completed in 2019.
Speaking at a groundbreaking ceremony for the project, Wang Zhen, the firm’s market manager in Zambia, said the firm has undertaken other projects in Zambia valued at about 500 million dollars and that have created over 2,000 jobs.
