MTN Ghana rewards 500 mothers

MTN Ghana commemorated this year’s Mothers‘ Day celebrations by rewarding 500 mothers with a variety of exciting gifts, including Huawei 4G handsets, customized birthday cakes, free movies tickets and free airtime.

A segment of customers received 4G smartphones from MTN to enable them experience MTN’s 4G service on-the-go. One of the customers who received the handset remarked with excitement, “I enjoy the speed that comes with the 4G service.“

Select mothers across the country whose birthday fell on Mothers‘ Day, Sunday May 14th 2017, also received customized birthday cakes in addition to eight hours of talk time. The women thanked MTN for the gifts.

An excited customer said, “MTN has made my birthday complete by giving me a customized birthday cake and free airtime. I used the airtime to call family and friends. I am very happy; the feeling is good. Thank you, MTN for making my birthday very special.“

A day before the Mothers‘ Day celebration, some MTN customers were given a special treat at the Silverbird Cinema at Accra Mall. They watched a movie whilst enjoying free popcorn and drinks.

Commenting on the celebration, the Chief Marketing Officer of MTN Ghana, Mr. Asher Khan said, “Women play pivotal roles in our lives and we can’t find a more appropriate day to honour and reward them.  Mother’s Day is a special time for women and it is appropriate that we celebrate them on this day.“

MTN has observed this day for the past few years.  Last year,  select female customers were rewarded with VLISCO shopping vouchers and other exciting prizes. MTN used the occassion to thank women for the role they play in sustaining the family and the economy.

Mother’s Day is a popular celebration honoring the mother of the family, as well as motherhood, maternal bonds, and the influence of mothers in society. It is celebrated in more than 40 countries worldwide and much loved in Ghana.
