Mr. Ignatius Akwasi Amankwah has been confirmed by the Sefwi-Bodi District Assembly as the District Chief Executive (DCE).He received 100 per cent vote of the assembly at an emergency meeting it held at Sefwi-Bodi. On hand to observe things for himself, was the Western Regional Minister, Dr. Kwaku Afriyie.
Mr. Amankwah, 48, and a businessman, said he was grateful to the President and the assembly for the opportunity and gave the assurance that he would live up to expectation. The assembly had earlier, elected Mr. Bernard Nkuaa, a teacher, as its Presiding Member.
In the Atwima-Mponua District, the President’s nominee, Mr. William Yaw Darko, also polled 39 votes, out of the total of 55 cast, to scale the mandatory two-thirds majority threshold required to become the DCE. He thanked the President and the assembly and promised that he was not going to disappoint.He would work with all to bring development and transform the living conditions of the people.
