Rider Mathias Sorgho from Burkina Faso on Wednesday won the 160 km long first stage of the 14th international cycling race of Benin.
He finished the 160 km long stage Parakou-Save in 4 hours, 17 minutes and 57 seconds, Benin cycling federation on Wednesday disclosed.
Abdelaziz Nikiema, another rider from Burkina Faso came second while Bachirou Kante from Cote d’Ivoire ranked third.
The contest kicked off on Wednesday in Parakou and is scheduled to close on 14 May in the economic capital Cotonou.
A total of 45 riders from eight countries, including took part in the start of the five-stage competition. Enditem
