Christians have been advised to effect social change through exemplary behaviour.
“The best way to get people to do the right thing, is to first do it yourself for others to emulate.”
Mr Samuel Badoo, founder of the Ancient Pathways Fellowship (APF), a non-denominational Christian fellowship organisation, said this in an interview with the Ghana News Agency during the annual APF breakfast meeting held in Accra.
He said Christianity was more about suffering to reach out to others, in order to save them from the sins of the world.
“Whilst it is good to achieve worldly treasures such as wealth, fame and many more, the core duty of Christians is to reach out and help as many people as possible, with respect to the Bible’s teachings,” he said.
Mr Badoo said people have various needs such as the need for encouragement and affection amongst others and this fell in line with the core duties of Christians.
Mr Emanuel Mensah, Chairman, APF Advisory Council, said it is important for Christians to support the preaching of the word of God adding that the APF sought to break through the barrier of Christian denominations and support as many churches as possible to win souls for Christ.
The APF has at the core of its functions, activities such as visiting prisons and hospitals and sharing the word of God with the inmates, as well as donating items such as foodstuffs and clothing to the needy.
