Mr. Patrick Kwesi Brako Kumor, the indefatigable first vice chairman of the Weija-Gbawe branch of the New Patriotic Party who is aspiring to be the Municipal Chief Executive has said, he is Optimistic that the one district, one factory project will materialise under H.E Nana Addo Dankwa Akufo-Addo, President of the Republic.
According to him, government has so far released GH?465m to the one district, one factory secretariat, the implementer of the project in the 216 district assemblies; for the commencement of the one district, one factory.
He stated further that through the goodwill of the NPP government some USD$3b has been raised as pledges in support of the mass industrialization project. He said, the amount raised so far confirms that, the one district, one factory is will take off, hence his optimism.
The New Patriotic Party (NPP) promised to establish one factory in each of the 216 Metropolitan, Municipal and District Assemblies. This promise was made to the good people of Ghana by H.E Nana Addo Dankwa Akufo-Addo, the visionary leader of the century. The purpose of the project is to create employment for the teeming youth across the country.
Mr. Kumor, who was the campaign manager for the 2016 elections in Weija-Gbawe Constituency said, he promised the people of his constituency that his Party will provide jobs through the one district, one factory project. “I am happy His Excellency, has lived up to his words by ensuring that a secretariat for the one district, one factory project is put in place to coordinate funds and activities planned to actualize the one district, one factory concept” he stated. He added that, the NPP government has a lot to offer in terms of jobs.
The ever sure and good hearted gentlemen, informed Hard Point Newspaper of his plans for the Ga South Municipal Assembly should he be nominated and subsequently appointed as the Municipal Chief Executive.
According to him, job creation will be his priority. He added that he has observed and is aware that a handful of young men and women in the Ga South Municipal Assembly do not have jobs, hence he will work around the clock to ensure that jobs are made available to them. When asked about the one district, one factory project in the Assembly, he giggled and said, “I will work hand in hand with the people of the Assembly and in consultation with the one district, one factory secretariat to decide on the best factory to set up in the rural part of the Assembly where there is readily availability of raw materials to feed the factory to be set up to generate jobs” he remarked.
However, the aspirant who was so overwhelmed could not hide his joy for the one district, one factory introduced by H.E Nana Addo Dankwa Akufo-Addo. He stated that, he would be a proud person to serve in the President’s administration as Chief Executive for Ga South Municipal Assembly.
