Following the dialogue between the Ghana Education Service (GES) and the National Executives of the Conference of Heads of Assisted Secondary Schools (CHASS), the Director-General of the GES has instructed all Head of schools not to prevent any student from writing the ongoing West African Senior School Certificate Examinations (WASSCE) for non-payment of school fees.
Further, the Director-General directs all heads of schools to collect all approved fees in full except feeding fees for the third term which should be pro-rated (that is paid based on the number of weeks or days the final year students stay in school during the third term of the 2016/2017 academic year.
Schools that have collected full term’s boarding fees from third year students for the third term should refund the difference.
Parents should, however, endeavour to clear all fees in arrears. This release supercedes earlier ones.
