Burundian president appoints new minister after assassination
Burundian President Pierre Nkurunziza on Monday evening appointed Celestin Ndayizeye as the new Minister for Water, Environment, Territory Planning and Urbanization, said a presidential decree. Ndayizeye, a senator elected in Muramvya constituency, replaced Emmanuel Niyonkuru, who was assassinated on Jan. 1 in the Burundian capital Bujumbura.
