It’s done and dusted for the Western region as all available slots for the 2019 National Science and Maths Quiz have been taken.
Takoradi Senior High, survived a scare from Shama High as a tie-breaker was needed to separate the two after Takoradi had led all through.
The Western region capital based school, however, fought off the scare and have secured a comeback to the show after their seeded spot was wrestled from them by Accra- based Margaret Mary Senior High School.
Their poor performance that day saw the victors triumph over them with as low as 26 points.
Elsewhere, St Mary’s Boys Senior High recorded an impressive 33 points to tower over Bodi SHS, Diabene SHTS and Dadieso SHS whose points couldn’t even sum up to that of Mary’s.
The Apowa-based school was eliminated by Accra Academy in 2018; but from the looks of their winning margin, it seems every lesson has been learnt.
In other contests:
Daboase Senior High Technical School qualified after edging a point over Bompeh SHTS who scored 20 points.
Tarkwa SHS scored 14 to place third and Half Assin trailed with 13 points.
