Results are trickling in from Koforidua after hours of voting and counting in the ongoing New Patriotic Party National Delegates Conference.
Even though the Electoral Commission is yet to officially declare the results, provisional figures picked up by Myjoyonline.com indicate Kate Gyamfua has been voted Women’s Organiser.
She is reported to have polled 686 votes with Joyce Konokie Zempare polling 109 votes. Already supporters of Gyamfua have hit the conference ground in Koforidua with sounds of ‘jama.’
Aspiring General Secretary John Boadu is convinced he will secure an overwhelming mandate. He told Joy News’ Gifty Andoh he is “waiting for the margin.”
“I have been working on this project for the past 24 years,” he said, adding, “it will not be surprising to get 100%.”
But his competitor Richard Ahiagba is not impressed with how parts of the voting process have gone.
He told Gifty Andoh “all is not well.”
“There were some skirmishes, very regrettable ones,” he said when he was pushed to explain exactly what he meant by that he said “a lot of agent issues, a lot of muscling going on.”
He, however, stated that “whoever wins or whoever loses, we move on.”
In the Youth Organiser category, Nana Boakye has also won by 423 votes with Dominic Kwesi Eduah polling 243 votes. Kamal Deen had 102 votes with Appiah Dansah polling a paltry 1 vote.
