Ghana is working again confession by the Deputy General Secretary of the National Democratic Congress Koku Anyidoho is proof the country is in the right hands.
That is the statement by the National Nasara Coordinator of the ruling New Patriotic Party, Kamal Deen.
According to him, Anyidoho’s comment is enough testimony of the exemplary leadership of President Nana Addo Dankwa Akuffo Addo.
On his release on bail after spending two nights in the custody of the Bureau of National Investigations for allegedly making treasonable comments the NDC Deputy General Secretary Koku Anyidoho is reported to have said: "the police are doing their work professionally and so we thank God and at least Ghana is working again."
He was arrested for threatening there will be an overthrow of the president.
Speaking on Accra based radio Happy FM on Monday, March 26, Mr. Anyidoho said: “On January 13, 1972 a certain Col. Ignatius Kutu Acheampong led a movement that removed the Progress Party from power. Busia was the Prime Minister and Akufo-Addo’s father was a ceremonial president. Somebody should tell Nana Akufo-Addo that history has a very interesting way of repeating itself.
“There’ll be a civilian coup d’etat; there’ll be a social revolution and the movement is starting on Wednesday. He [Akufo-Addo] will be fed up at the presidency,” Mr Anyidoho said.
He was subsequently arrested and detained by the CID where he spent two nights in the custody of the BNI.
He was full of praise for the police administration on his release from detention.
Reacting to the comment after leading a health walk, the Nasara Coordinator who is also the NPP National Youth Organiser hopeful stated that Koku Anyidoho’s admission of been treated well by this current administration is a testament of good governance under the NPP administration.
Mr. Kamal Deen stated that Koku's experience is in sharp contrast with what some NPP bigwigs went through in the hands of the security agencies during the 8 years rule of the Mills – Mahama administration.
"I heard Koku Anyidoho when he said Ghana is working again, he said so... it means Ghana wasn't working then. It's as simple as that. The man took us back to 1972. He was arrested to be interrogated and when he got back, he said indeed Ghana is working because I was not manhandled, I was not treated badly... Therefore if a crocodile comes out of the water and tells you Ghana is working again, who are you to argue?"
"So this tells you that the man we have as the President of Ghana Nana Addo Dankwa Akuffo Addo is the man who upholds the rule of law, a man who upholds the fundamental human rights of the people and if an opposition person comes out to tell you that Ghana is indeed working again, then it means we ought to be repeated in power in 2020 so that Ghana will continue to work and work again".
He also used the occasion to plead with politicians to emulate the president and know that politics is not war and is not "meant to divide us but to bring us together.
