WAFA beat champions Aduana Stars to make it two straight wins and manager Klaus Rasmussen could not hide his excitement after the match.
The Academy Boys were made to dig deep but won 2-0 courtesy of second-half strikes by Musah Nuhu and Aminu Mohammed.
The Danish tactician said his team deserved the full spoils because they were organised and tactically disciplined.
"It was nice and a lot changed in the transition, we took good care and we had to score first and that was a good thing for us and our confidence," he told reporters.
I am very happy about the way the game went except for a few injuries and I am a little bit sorry about that because we have to play on Saturday again but all three points at home and after this performance, that was very good."
''We were very organised and we had two goals. We were very heavy at the back and we had good players in the transition,''
I don't think we were lucky but if they had scored it won't be okay.''
After coming close to winning the title last season, WAFA intend to go all the way this term and have made a positive start. They are unbeaten and have seven points after three games.
