GT and Access banks are the latest to contribute their widow's mite towards JOY FM’s Easter Soup Kitchen, Wednesday.
The items donated by the two financial powerhouses included bags of rice, tomato puree, biscuits, cooking oil and cartons of drinks.
Over the years, your superstation Joy 99.7 FM hosts thousands of underprivileged Ghanaians at its annual Easter Soup Kitchen.
Hundreds of street children, head porters and other less privileged people throng the venue to eat, drink, party and get screened medically.
Access Bank Ghana was the first to make its donation with the team led by former Joy FM News Editor, Matilda Asante Asiedu.
She said the Access Women’s Network, a network of all the women who work at the bank, as part of their compassion towards supporting the needy decided to donate to make the project a success.
“Last year we supported the Soup Kitchen and we decided to support the project again this year by donating these items,” she said.
GT Bank was next bank to present their donations with Godfred Adjabeng, Unit Head of Corporate Affairs of the bank, leading the team.
“This has become a tradition for us because to donate as we see it as an opportunity to support the initiative and give back to society by reaching out to the underprivileged," he said.
Joy FM’s Super Morning Show host, Daniel Dadzie and Sports Presenter, George Addo Junior, took the items on behalf of the station.
They thanked the two organisations for their kind gesture and many others who have donated towards the project.
“We are excited about this and we are grateful that you support this noble cause…we are excite3d about this and hope that this goes a long way to cement the relationship between us,” Mr Addo Jnr. said.
The event comes off on Sunday, April 1, at the Efua Sunderland Park in Accra and no donation is too small. Donations are still welcomed.
