The Royal commonwealth Society is the oldest member of the Commonwealth family. Its Patron is the Head of the Commonwealth, Her Majesty Queen Elizabeth II, with Lord Howell of Guildford serving as its current President, and His Royal Highness The Aga Khan the Fourth; The Right Honourable Theresa May, the Prime Minister of the United Kingdom; The Right Honourable Baroness Scotland, the Secretary – General of the Commonwealth Secretariat, and The Right Honourable Boris Johnson, Secretary of State for Foreign and Commonwealth Affairs, to name a few, serving as its Vice- Presidents.
Ndiva Women’s Film Festival was founded in 2017. It was founded on the premise that although women all over the world share similar stories that must be heard, women from the African continent, the African Diaspora or of African Heritage in particular, face many barriers into telling their stories through film.
To this end, the NWFF has been created to bring all women in the Film production chain, from Filmmakers, Film Directors, Editors, Producers, Animators, Actresses, Cinematographers, Production Designers, together in a space where they can network, collaborate, exhibit their work and celebrate each other. The Festival is open to all women living in Africa, the African Diaspora or those of African Heritage.
