The Black Stars B WAFU Cup of Nations triumph is a clear indication that Ghana football is not on the decline, according to the President Nana Akufo-Addo.
He insists football in the West African nation is very much alive after the home-based stars clinched the regional crown in grand style over the weekend.
Ghana thumped rivals Nigeria 4-1 in the final to retain the trophy they won in 2013.

And for the first gentleman of the nation, the team’s success makes practical nonsense of the continuous claims that football in the country is retrogressing.
“A few days ago before the results of your achievement, I was having an argument with somebody who was telling me that Ghanaian football was on a decline and I said really.., how?
“The country that produced players such as James Adjei, Baba Yara, Osei Kofi, Abedi Pele, Tony Yeboah and Asamoah Gyan..., that country has run out of great footballers?, that cannot be,” President Akufo Addo stated.
The President has rewarded the victorious team with $100,000 for the feat.
