The IREVA Songstress Search (ISS), an initiative to develop interest and passion among young Ghanaian ladies in gospel music has been launched.
The event was launched at Tomrek Hotel inside East Legon under the eagle eyes of radio personality Franky5, Host of This Is Gospel on Hitz FM.
The program, which is in partnership with Hitz FM, Myjoyonline.com, Footprint TV and Eurostar Global Limousine, has its primary purpose to elevate the importance and relevance of the feminine touch to music in Ghana.
With its motto ‘Inspired by Music’, the music reality show will highlight the economic and cultural values of investing in female talents.
A highly experience jury will shortlist applicants to Top 20 finalists who will go on to battle it out for the ultimate prize.
The first, second and third place contestants will be awarded prizes such as Album/Songs Recording Contracts, Cash, Publicity, Promotions and other giveaways.
Unlike other music reality shows, where the judges only critique the contestants’ performances, on ISS, a Technical Advisor to the jury, mentors the finalists in a particular category.
The person will aid them with song selection and styling while also participating in judging the contestants in the other categories.
Voting would commence immediately after the Top 20 have been selected for the grand finale.
Voting would be by way of tweets with the favourite contestant’s name to a hashtag that would be put before start of voting is announced.
The votes by tweets would be made up of 40 perform public votes and 60 perform by the jury. The total votes to determine the winner would be posted online for the public.
Registration forms are available at the Front Desk of Joy FM for GHc30 as well on the official page of the search, and MTN Mobile Money number 0555930300.
