The Universal Merchant Bank (UMB) has organised a health walk for its staff and customers as part of its 45th Anniversary celebrations.
The walk held last Saturday was under the theme “Walking to Celebrate 45 Years”.
The UMB's 45th Anniversary Health Walk was meant to drum home to staff members, customers and the general public the relevance of physical exercise to one's health.
The walk drew participants from UMB customers, Board members as well as stakeholders from UMB Foundation and UMB Capital.
Chief Executive Officer of UMB, John Awuah used the opportunity to highlight the story of the indigenous bank since it was founded some 45 years ago.
He said the Bank has distinguished itself with its services and products in the Ghanaian banking sector.
The walk began at the forecourt of UMB’s Head office at Airport City in Accra and proceeded through several principal streets of the country's capital.
To provide an additional element of fun and liveliness, participants were accompanied by a brass band. Tunes were played from the start of the walk to the end.
At the end of the event, UMB donated money to UMB Foundation for every UMB staff member that completed the walk.
The donation was meant to support UMB Foundation in the areas of health, education promotion as well as the celebration and promotion of Ghanaian heritage and culture.
