The Interior Minister has appealed for calm between feuding factions in Tuesday’s Konkomba and Dagomba clashes that led to the death of two people.
Ambrose Dery called on the people to desist from acts that have the tendency to create the wrong impression about people who hail from the three regions of the North.
Speaking to some Konkombas at Agbogbloshie in Accra Wednesday, the Minister cautioned them against taking the law into their own hands.
“If you do it will catch up with you,” Mr Dery warned.
At least two people died in clashes between Konkombas and Dagombas at Agbogbloshie. A dozen others, including a pregnant woman, are in critical condition.
Details of the cause of the clashes are sketchy, but some residents are attributing it to an old political and ethnic rivalry between the two tribes.

There have been similar clashes in the past. Clashes in April 2015 between Dagombas and Zabarima traders left four people including a police officer injured.
Also, a clash in November 2014 left two people dead.
A contingent of police and military personnel were dispatched to the community to restore peace.
MP for Odododiodio Constituency, Nii Lante Vanderpuye, suggested there will be lasting peace if residents are spoken to by their own people.

The former Sports Minister told Joy News, “There should be a high-powered delegation to speak to them [because] they respect their leadership.”
Visiting them a day after the incident, the Interior Minister has urged them to learn to exist with one another in peace.
He asked them to take advantage of the business environment to work since President Nana Addo Dankwa Akufo-Addo is working to create more jobs.
Interior Minister Ambrose Dery sandwiched between Defense Minister Dominic Nitiwul and National Security Minister Kan Dapaah
“The President wants to create jobs, wants to change Ghana, he is helping the poor, Kayayei, free school but you cannot take the law into your hand,” he said.
“Do cooperate and everything will be okay.”
Mr Dery was accompanied by Defense Minister, Dominic Nitiwul, National Security Minister, Kan Dapaah and Kpandai MP, Matthew Nyindam.
