Studies conducted by the Media Foundation for West Africa (MFWA) on "radio coverage of local governance issues in selected districts across Ghana" have revealed that many radio stations in Ghana continue to give far less attention to local governance and local development issues.
The Media Foundation for West Africa (MFWA) has noticed with concern the increasing acts of violations perpetrated against journalists in their line of duty.
On February 17, 2014, about 30 youth stormed the premises of Gift FM - a privately-owned radio station - in Dormaa Ahenkro, a town in the Brong Ahafo region of Ghana.
