The Head Coach of Bofoakwa Tano, Stephen FrimpongManso, attributed the team’s current form to the players’ growing confidence and understanding of the dynamics of the Ghana Premier League.
Bofoakwa remained unbeaten after their match day five draw with Goldstars over the weekend.
That took them to nine points after two wins over Real Tamale United and Hearts of Oak followed by two other draws with Great Olympics and Heart of Lions.
In a chat with the TimesSports, Coach Frimpong Manso said that form has also exposed the team and its inexperienced players to pressures associated with the Premier League.
According to him, the pressure of being tagged as league leaders was beginning to affect his players, but they have positively responded to that with their attitudinal change on the field of play.
According to him, since climbing the summit of the league table, opponents have come at them in a different form.
“Bibiani Gold Stars over the weekend approached our game as if they were playing with Hearts of Oak or Asante Kotoko; the intensity was beyond our imagination.”
“However, we held our own against them and should have even won but for the lack of a potent striker.”
He said his backroom staff and the playing body understand what it means to be league leaders and would be prepared for the challenge.
“If we were to be struggling or in the middle part of the table, some teams may even underrate us and adopt a different approach.”
