Christian men have been cautioned to be wary of “beautiful women” as focusing on them could make them veer off their Christian journeys.
Instead, they were to focus on their Christ like missions here on earth and ensure they gave no room for any distractions.
Rt. Rev. Prof Joseph Edusa-Eyison, Bishop of the Northern Accra Diocese of the Methodist Church Ghana, admonished at the fourth edition of the “Time with the Bishop” programme held by the Men’s Fellowship of the Church in Accra on Saturday.
He noted that though “women are beautiful or could be beautiful,” there was the need for them to keep their focus in order to ensure that their mandate of spreading the Christian gospel by public preaching or personal witness was sustained.
Dr Kenneth Sagoe Dadzie, the Lay Council Chairman of the Northern Accra Diocese of the Methodist Church Ghana, similarly, charged the men to invest their time and resources in discipleship, collaborating with the Clergy and other Organisations in the Church in expanding the word and work of God.
Rt. Rev. Edward Ofori Donkor, Superintendent Minister of the Dzorwulu Circuit of the Methodist Church, for his part advocated that the men should take the word of God more seriously, particularly in this era when homosexuals were becoming militants in the world.
Mr Herbert Morrison, Managing Partner of Morrison and Associates, a firm of Chartered Accountants, commended the Men’s Fellowship for committing their lives to the gospel business and urged them not to despair in the face of challenges.
The National Vice Chairman of the Association of Methodist Men’s Fellowship, Mr Ebenezer Anorwi, explained that the annual ‘Time with the Bishop’ programme provided an opportunity for the men of the Church to interact with the Bishop, and structure activities for the ensuing year.
