A 45–year-old timber merchant, Akwasi Banahene, was on Friday night shot dead by unknown assailant, at his private residence at Mim in Ahafo region after returning home from work.
The Mim District Police Commander, Superintendent Charles Asiama Adjei, confirmed the story to the Ghanaian Times, but declined further comments, except to say that reports on the matter have been forwarded to the Ahafo Regional police Commander.
Meanwhile the body of the deceased has been deposited at the Goaso Municipal Hospital for autopsy and preservation.
