Commey displays his title
New IBF lightweight champion, Richard Commey has commended the organisers of the Bukom ‘Fist of Fury’ Boxing League and advised boxers to grab the chance of fighting regularly to sharpen their skills.
Speaking at the forecourt of the Osu Manste’s Palace where the eighth week of the league was held, Commey said, he did not get the opportunity of fighting in an exciting and well organised progamme like the ‘Fist of Fury’.
“This programme is very good. It will keep our boxers in form to be ready at any time and produce good fights whenever they are called upon,” he said
Commenting on his return back home, Commey said he was happy to be back to his people to contribute to boxing in Ghana, saying, “God has blessed me and I will be grateful always; I am here through hard work and with it, I hope to go higher and higher.”
He praised his manager, Michael Amoo-Bediako and hinted that his management team, Streetwise Boxing, was hunting for young boxers who are capable of becoming world champions.
According to Commey, Ghana was blessed with many boxing talents who must be helped out to break the chains of poverty in the ghettos and slums.
