In its quest to support health care delivery in Ghana, Svani Group Limited, a leading automobile and logistics company, has donated a 33-seater bus to the FOCOS Orthopaedic Hospital at Pantang in Accra.
The donation is expected to significantly address the transportation challenges facing the hospital and its staff.
Presenting the Volvo Eicher bus last Friday, Thomas Svanikier, Executive Chairman of Svani Group, said the gesture was to assist in enhancing health care service delivery at the hospital for the benefit of Ghanaians.
He said the donation, which was in line with the company’s corporate social responsibility, was also to appreciate the sacrifices of the management and staff of the hospital in serving the citizenry.
He assured the hospital of further assistance in the area of transportation, and urged the staff to let the donation encourage them to do more.
Prof. Oheneba Boachie-Adjei, Chief Executive Officer of FOCOS Hospital, receiving the key to the bus, expressed appreciation to Svani Group for the gesture, which he said would be of tremendous help to the health facility.
“FOCOS is not my hospital, it is our hospital and anyone who comes in and does a great deed for us, we appreciate it,” he said.
Dr Joseph Ogyaadu, medical director of the hospital, for his part, described the donation as “very timely” in saving the staff from the transportation difficulty.
