De Bruyne (centre) got a goal on his return from injury
Gabriel Jesus continued his red-hot form, scoring the opening goal as Manchester City breezed into the fifth round of the FA Cup courtesy of a 5-0 thumping of Burnley at Etihad Stadium.
The Brazilian broke the deadlock after 23 minutes – his eighth goal in five games – as City converted their dominance into a one-goal lead at the break.
Pep Guardiola rotated his side only slightly, signalling his intentions in this season’s competition, and he was rewarded with a fine performance from his charges.
Matej Vydra should have levelled the game for Burnley immediately after the restart, however, but a couple of minutes later Bernardo Silva put City out of sight with a deflected finish.
Kevin De Bruyne put the gloss on a fine performance with a rocket from the edge of the penalty area before Kevin Long scored an own-goal and substitute Sergio Aguero netted from the spot, as City claimed their place in today’s draw for the last 16. – Eurosport
