Jarvis Peprah
Former Management Member of Asante Kotoko, Mr Jarvis Peprah has expressed anger following a threat by Seidu, a supporter of the club to sack C.K Akonnor from training with the team.
Asante Kotoko invited the Police to provide protection at their training grounds following rumours of a ploy by fans to sack Coach Charles Akonnor.
It will be recalled that the same ‘Seidu’ led a charge in a similar fashion to prevent Zradvko Logarusic from training his team while he was a coach of Kotoko.
He said it was time notorious supporters of the club were dealt with to ensure sanity in the team.
However, the former CEO of Kotoko in an interview with Accra-based Starr FM says the club should be firm in dealing with Seidu once and for all.
The outspoken administrator said even though Seidu’s plan of attacking the coach did not materialise, Kotoko still have to report to the police and make his pictures available at all the gates at the Baba Yara Stadium to enable the police to prevent him from coming close to the team.
Meanwhile, Mr Sarfo Duku, the Communication Director of Kumasi Asante Kotoko has said the club has officially parted ways with Sylla Mohammed, with 13 other players on the verge of being released.
In an interview with the GNA Sports, Mr Duku said, they would soon put more players on the transfer list, as part of plans to restructure the club.
The decision follows Coach Charles Kwabla Akonnor’s lack of interest in the services of the player.
The midfielder joined Kumasi Asante Kotoko in 2017 on three-year deal but failed to make the final squad to participate in this year’s Confederation of Africa Football (CAF) Confederation Cup tournament.
The Porcupine Warriors would travel to Cameroon on Friday ahead of their CAF Confederation Cup first leg encounter with Coton Sport on Sunday, January 13. –Primenewsghana
