Ms Rao presenting the items to Father Andrew Campbell Board Chairman of the Hospital. With them are members of the Association and staff of the Hospital
The Association of Spouses of Heads of Missions (ASOHOM) and International Organisations in Accra, has presented quantity of drugs and wheel chairs to the Princess Marie Louise (children) Hospital in Accra.
The items were presented when members of the group visited the hospital to interact with children on admission.
Ms Richa Rao, president of the association, presenting the items said the gesture was part of the social responsibility of her outfit.
Receiving the items, Dr Mame Yaa Nyarko, Medical Superintendent at the hospital, expressed gratitude to the association, and hoped that the donation would go a long way to help the operation of the hospital.
She indicated that the wheelchairs would help in moving the sick children from one ward to the other without difficulty.
Dr Nyarko said “The hospital does not have enough wheelchairs to perform those functions since most of them have broken down”.
She said currently, the hospital lacked an effective laboratory and always referred patients to Korle-Bu Teaching Hospital for laboratory tests.
