A GH¢ 2.1 million three storey court complex is being constructed by the Adentan Municipal Assembly to bring justice delivery closer to the people.
The project, which is about 90 per cent complete, would house the magistrate, circuit and high courts as well as cells and offices for the police.
Mr Daniel Nii-Noi Adumuah, Municipal Chief Executive of Adentan, announced this during an interaction with the media on Saturday.
The meeting was to afford the MCE the opportunity to account for his stewardship for the year and his vision for the assembly.
Mr Adumuah said the project was expected to be completed in the first quarter of next year and handed over for use.
He said the completion and operationalisation of the project would save the people of the area, the trouble of travelling to Accra to seek justice.
The MCE said that law enforcement in the municipality would be enhanced to allow the people go about their duties without hindrance.
He said the assembly has formulated by-laws which would be gazetted for use by the assembly to guide its operations
Mr Adumuah warned that people who build without permit would be prosecuted to bring sanity and order in the planning and development agenda of the assembly.
As part of efforts to improve security in the municipality, he said the assembly has replaced and installed 680 faulty street lights at a cost of GH¢373,613.
Similarly, he said, the assembly has installed a 20 KVA solar panel system on a two storey polyclinic at Ogbojo at a cost of GH¢243,000 to ensure uninterrupted electricity supply to enhance healthcare delivery to the people.
Mr Adumuah said a three storey clinic with ancillary facilities was under construction at Adjiringanor at a cost of GH¢792,232.
He said the project which was 25 per cent complete was expected to be completed next year to bring quality healthcare delivery services to the people.
The MCE said the assembly intends to construct Community-based Health Planning and Services (CHPS) compounds in selected communities next year to promote primary healthcare at the local community level.
Mr Adumuah promised to operate an open door policy and urged the media not to hesitate in contacting the assembly for any information that would help move the development agenda of the area forward.
