THE bout between the WBO super bantamweight champion, Isaac Dogboe and his Mexican Challenger, Emanuel Navarrette, slated for the Madison Square Garden in New York on Saturday will be telecast live by Ho-based V1 TV.
The Chief Executive Officer of the station, Madam Dzifa Attivor, announced this at a press conference in Ho on Tuesday.
“This is our way of throwing our weight behind our son to retain his title,” she said.
The move, according to Madam Attivor, was also meant to encourage many young boxing talents in the Volta Region to pursue their dream of becoming champions.
“As Isaac fights his way to victory, we at V1 TV believe that it will encourage every young person in the Volta Region to believe that they can achieve their dreams,” she added.
As part of the preparation towards the day, a giant television screen is being erected at the Nfojoe Park at the Ho Civic Centre to show the event outdoor as well.
About 20,000 boxing fans from within and outside the Ho municipality are expected to turn up at the venue to watch the bout.
Madam Attivor said that the arrangement was in collaboration with RSTV, Rising Star Africa Promotions and Togbe Badu House of Anyako.
